I really enjoyed this story. The beginning was light and sexy, and then the darker, more disturbing ending was quite the twist. I originally read it through Ellora's Cave website and was thrilled to find it on Amazon years later. It is a fairly original vampire story, which is getting kinda hard to find nowadays. The sex was well-written and the story was interesting (also hard to find within the genre). The female protagonist was someone I could connect with, she acted like a real person and not a freaking brainless bimbo damsel. I would recommend this book to people who like non-glittering vamps and who find characters similar to Marv in "Sin City" appealing. This book would be a good starter to transition into H.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood vampire books. The only thing keeping me from rating it five star is that I haven't read any of the other books in the series so I don't know how well they flow together. I did just buy them all, though, lol! I personally like tales about Vampires
I can't say enough about this book. I couldn' t put it down. The characters are so vivid. I have read hundreds of books this year and this is the best by far. And only $1.49. Wow. I can't wait to read more of Kate Hill's books!
What can I say about this awesome series that you just have to read every single one of theses books!!!! They just keep on getting better and better and at a $1.49 per book (that I really do not understand) it makes this series soooo much sweeter. This last book is my favorite and no two stories are a like. So please do your self a favor and start reading the series you will not regret it!!! You can even just start with this one first.
I read the reviews and while deciding about a new author, this book jumped out at me. I am really glad and enjoyed it. Again, each book will tell you more of what is going on, so if you jump in the middle like I did, I was prepared to not understand references of previous characters. But that really did not bother me. The H was the main attraction to me and man oh man what a strong person to deal with the hand that life given him.
